Weather rhythms
I've always loved being near water. It's why the creek that runs down two sides of our property was such a selling point. There are even two footbridges!
One thing I didn't appreciate until we moved in was how much the presence of that creek would make me aware of different rhythms in the weather. Yesterday was an absolute downpour, especially overnight. The creek, by extension, is roaring now! Crack a window anywhere in the house and you hear it. Yet give it a few days of dry weather and it'll be back to a trickle, as it was on Wednesday night.
When you live in cities I think you become shielded from weather. Sure, it can impact your day, but it often doesn't impact your surrounding environment. Out here, though, you feel how the creeks, trees, birds, and more respond to weather. It's a lovely rhythm to slip into and brings a sense of calm.
